Art has been in my life ever since I was born. My father is also an artist, and from as soon as I could pick up a writing implement he has been gently guiding and teaching me how to create what I see both with my eyes and in my head. His passion and love for the craft is what inspired me to contiually draw, paint, photograph, and sculpt for countless hours amongst countless months and years. That passion and love for art has also grown deeply within my heart.

After high school I joined the Air Force for 4 years and only midly did any art, and from there I worked another 7 years as an Army contractor. Those were dark years because I had lost my way and my passion for creating, but then I met someone who would respark that passion once again. This special person is a blacksmith and after seeing him go to work day in and day out, and still have that same love for his art made me desire to have that in my life. I decided that it was time to go back to school to get my degree in graphic design. While in my first semester there my advisor highly suggested to me that I should also persue a degree in multimedia as a lot of the classes can count towards both degrees.

So lo and behold, after almost 2 years back in school I am close to obtaining my dual degree in graphic design and multimeda. I do not regret a single moment of choosing this path. I have loved every moment of it and look at each new project with anticipation. I constantly push myself to new heights with each assignment; and even though there may be many nights of being up until 2am, or having to turn down invitations from friends in order to stay ahead of the work, or tears of frustration at something just not wanting to work the way I want it to, in the end it is all still worth it to me.

When I do have free time that is not dedicated to schoolwork, I do medieval reenactment - another thing that this special blacksmith turned me on to. I am a part of a group called the Society for Creative Anachronism. I have found my home here. Being surrounded by people who share the same passion that you do for creating is such a warm welcoming to the heart. Through my years in the Society, I have furthered my sewing skills and have produced all the garb that I wear, along with a lot of my boyfriend's garb. I also have developed a love for embroidering. It is very zen like for me and it helps me to relax and put my mind at ease. I am also involved in the combat rapier community and thoroughly enjoy any of the big melee fights. At most events lately though, you can always find me walking around with my camera and taking photographs to document the day for everyone there. It is with great joy that I am able to capture those special moments for people. When they can recall all those memories and emotions they felt that day when they look back onto my photographs.
